The Impact of Wave Mobile Money on the Economic Development of The Gambia
This paper investigates the effect of Wave mobile money services on economic development in The Gambia. Using household survey data and a difference-in-differences framework, the study examines how access to Wave's digital financial services affects household savings, small business revenue, and financial inclusion metrics across urban and rural regions. Preliminary findings suggest positive associations between Wave adoption and household financial resilience, particularly among previously unbanked populations.
